Lynxx Networks was originally founded in 1907 as the New Lisbon Mutual Telephone Company. After acquiring several other local exchanges in the area, it was renamed Lemonweir Valley Telephone Company in 1931. Many technological advancements have taken place over the years, ranging from two party lines, operator switchboards, party rings, and eventually one party lines during the years as a phone-only company; followed by the introduction of TV and DSL product offerings; a brief stint in the cellular world; and then the fiber internet, optic voice, and streaming TV product offerings that the company has today. Rebranding has also taken place over the years, with changes to the company name and logo; Lemonweir Valley Telephone Company was renamed Lynxx in 2014 and Lynxx Networks in 2018.
Today, customers along a 70-mile stretch of the I-90 corridor are served by Lynxx Networks' fiber optic network. This includes residential and business customers in Mauston, New Lisbon, Camp Douglas, Oakdale, Tomah, Wyeville, Valley Junction, Sparta, Bangor, West Salem, Onalaksa, and La Crosse.
In 2017 Lynxx Networks acquired 3RT Networks, a managed IT services company, and in 2022, Bahr Electric, an electric and structured cabling company that specializes in government contracting. The result: a combined organization that can deliver design-build structured and electrical cabling and fiberoptic infrastructure solutions; internet and IP-based voice services; and IT managed services, cybersecurity, and network data center services.
