It's a big job to bring our fiber network to new communities.
Here's an overview of the process:
Area Updates
City of Mauston
There seems to be some confusion about the grant project and the City of Mauston project. If you have a city address, you're included in our city project, which is on a different timeline from the project in the Towns of Lisbon and Lemonweir. If you're in the city and have a drop, it doesn't mean that your home is ready for service. It just means that our construction crews started in your zone first and more work has been done in your neighborhood than in other zones. The mainline in Mauston is roughly 60% complete, and our crews are starting to run the fiber through the mainline ducts. The mainline fiber has to be completely in place for us to splice your fiber connection to the mainline. There's a lot of work to be done in between when the drops go in and we can fire up an area for service, including setting equipment, fiber splicing, and testing. We anticipate that homes will start to be connected for service in the latter half of 2024. If you know someone who is interested in our service, but hasn't signed up, tell them do so now. The fiber connection is free and signing up now puts their name on our construction list 2024.
Sign Up For A DropTowns of Lemonweir and Lisbon
All three zones in our grant area have officially opened for service. Now, anyone in our grant area who has a drop (fiber line run to their home) is able to apply for service and schedule their installation date. Anyone who doesn't have a drop, but would like a fiber connection, can get on our constuction list for 2024 by clicking here.
We'll be sending a crew back out to run those drops in 2024.
Village of West Salem
Eight of our nine zones have officially opened for service in West Salem. If your zone is open you will have received e-mails from Lynxx stating your home is ready for service, along with instructions for how to go online and apply for services and schedule your installation date.
If you are interested in service, but haven't signed up for a fiber connection yet, you may still do so at this time. However, please note that your home will be put on our construction list for the spring / summer of 2024.
Wyeville
We did all of the construction of the mainline fiber in Wyeville in the Fall of 2023. Residents of the village who are interested in having our service can sign up for a fiber connection now. This puts a property on our construction list for spring when the ground thaws and our contractors can begin to install the drops - the fiber lines that run from the mainline to a home or business. We anticipate that residents will be connected for service in the latter half of 2024.
Here's answers to our most frequently asked questions in our expansion areas:
If I want service, do I have to sign up?
Yes! If you want Lynxx Networks service you MUST sign up for a fiber connection. Signing up for service simultaneously gives our company and our contractors permission to go on your property and bury fiber to your home. You can sign up for service by clicking here. Signing up for service now does not commit you to taking certain services - choosing internet, voice, and TV options will occur at a later date.
Is the fiber connection free?
Yes - while we are constructing our network, the fiber conection to your home is free. If you are interested in having Lynxx service now or in the future, we advise you to sign up for the fiber connection NOW. Once your neighborhood is ready for service you can apply for services and schedule your installation date at your convenience. If you don't take the fiber connection now, but decide you want our service in the future, there may be a connection fee.
